Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleberg Fringe Tiara
Made by Koch in 1905 for Princess Madeleine when she married Prince Richard of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleberg, it is made in a kokoshnik style. The tiara was left to Madeleine’s grandson Prince Richard who married Princess Benedikte of Denmark in 1968. As Benedikte still attends many formal events in Denmark, she has had ample opportunity to wear the fringe tiara. She has let her daughters borrow her other two tiaras, but not this one. It’s unclear what will happen to the tiara when Benedikte passes on, as her son Gustav is unmarried.
